I'm sorry we have been so blogger-absent recently. Both Doug and I got swamped at work just as the holidays were ramping up, and it's been a race to the finish line ever since!
Thanksgiving we spent with both our extended families, eating two turkey dinners in a week. Yum!
We enjoyed a very happy Christmas and New Year's quietly in our own home with just the two of us. Christmas Eve we were invited to the home of some friends where we shared a tasty meal, read the Christmas story from Luke, sang some carols and even opened a present. So fun! Thanks Lance and Kristi! Christmas morning we slept late, took our time opening some presents and visited with family on the phone.
New Year's Eve I actually made it all the way to midnight! We watched a movie, ate treats and toasted with sparkling cider. New Year's Day we spent rearranging the furniture in our house to make room for baby stuff. It was actually really fun! It's like we have a new house to go with the new year.
And so, we start 2009 in great anticipation of the arrival of our little boy and whatever else may come!
We hope all of you are well and enjoyed a happy holiday season. Happy New Year!

Our tree. I didn't get stockings done, and we didn't put up many other Christmas decorations, but we like our tree :)

Day after Christmas meal - Turkey Dinner. Yum!! We were too tired on Christmas day to try to do the turkey we planned, but we sure enjoyed it the day after (and the week after).

Happy Birthday, Doug! He insisted I make gluten-free birthday cake for him so that I could eat it too. What a sweetheart! The cupcakes turned out great--Doug even said so.
