We had a great Thanksgiving this year! We invited over some friends and family and had a traditional feast. Everyone contributed, which I must say is a great way to go. It wasn't nearly so hectic trying to do the whole meal. Doug and I were really pleased with how the turkey turned out. This was the second time we tried brining it and it was even better than last year. Doug's carving job was almost a work of art!
This is only part of the food!

I'm really improving on making gluten-free pie crust. We found a new recipe that was even tastier than the previous. This is just one of the 3 pies we made. We had pumpkin, apple crumble and chocolate silk. Unfortunately the chocolate didn't set up even after 6 hours in the fridge. But it still tasted good!
We feel very blessed and are very thankful for all that we have. Doug came up with a new tradition that will certainly be part of our future holidays: every hour, on the hour, we would say something that we are thankful for (no repeats aloud!). Our clock dings on the hour, so that was a good reminder. We found we could easily go the whole day and still have more things to be thankful for. It was nice to stay in the thankful spirit the whole day long.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!
