I'm an Auntie again!

I got another nephew this week! Axton Matthew Fifield was born on Monday night. He was 5 weeks early and is really tiny, but super cute, and growing and healthy. We're so happy for him and his parents Matthew and Kristin. You can visit their blog for more pictures, but this is one of my favorites:

The name Axton, which I love, is Kristin's Great Grandmother's last name (correct me if I'm wrong) and there are no more male heirs to the name, so it has died out. I think it's so neat that they have chosen to give the name to their son. I love significant family names for babies, and Axton is just cool.

Star Trek - just can't get enough

I thought my Star Trek life was over May 23, 1994 when Star Trek: The Next Generation went off the air. Yet after 14 years, 3 more series and 4 movies - ITS NOT OVER YET!!

Paramount plans to release another installment in the Star Trek saga, this time a prequel going to the early days of Kirk, Spock and the crew of the USS Enterprise 1701.

They've cast Zachary Quinto as the young spock. He freaks us out as the villain on Heroes, but I think he can make a good Vulcan if they keep him clean shaven and give him pointy ears and eyebrows.

I am a little nervous about whether they can make another good Star Trek movie, especially since Nemesis was not the best film ever, but J.J. Abrams is directing. He did Batman Begins and Transformers, both of which I really liked, so I think there is hope for this one. And who really cares - of course I'll go and I'll even wait in line because - this is STAR TREK!!
